Job Summary

The Legal Manager will be responsible for managing and executing legal tasks for Homeville Group. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the affordable home loan sector and strong non-litigation experience specifically related to mortgages. The Legal Manager will provide legal support essential for navigating the legal complexities of property transactions and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal assistance to the Company in various capacities.
• Conduct due diligence on properties intended for mortgage.
• Review and provide opinions on LSR (Loan Sanction Report) and TSR (Technical Sanction Report).
• Conduct property searches and prepare search reports.
• Carry out legal due diligence on properties for the creation of mortgages (equitable or registered) throughout India.
• Prepare mortgage documentation and assist internal teams with legal queries, documentation, and stamp duty matters.

Qualifications

• Education: LLB from a reputed Law College.
• Experience: 3 - 6 years of relevant legal experience, particularly in non-litigation related to mortgages.
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Marathi, and Hindi; knowledge of any regional language is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with property laws and mortgage regulations in India.
• Experience with legal documentation related to property transactions.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks pertaining to housing finance.

Experience

• 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in the legal domain, particularly within the affordable housing or mortgage sectors.
