Cognos Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cognos Developer to join our team and contribute to our esteemed client's implementation projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining Cognos reports, dashboards, and metadata models while ensuring data accuracy, security, and optimal performance. This role is key to translating business stakeholder requirements into effective technical solutions and ensuring that the Cognos environment is robust and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and metadata models using Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Active Reports.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
• Design and optimize complex Cognos Framework Manager models for efficient reporting and high performance.
• Implement data security and governance best practices across all Cognos outputs.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches.
• Work with the database team to optimize SQL queries and integrate Cognos with data warehouses.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Cognos BI development, including hands-on expertise with Cognos Analytics, Cognos 11, and Framework Manager.
• Proficient in Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Active Reports.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2.
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and integrating Cognos with data warehouses.
• Experience in Cognos Administration covering deployment, security, and performance tuning.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with demonstrated stakeholder management abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Continuous Integration practices in a Cognos development environment.
• Familiarity with additional Cognos tools and advanced reporting techniques.
• Prior exposure to data governance and advanced performance tuning methodologies.

Experience

• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in Cognos BI development and reporting.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex Cognos Framework Manager models and dashboards.

Environment

• Location: Pune, with a hybrid work model offering 3 days work from home.
• Immediate onboarding is preferred.
• The role involves collaboration with business stakeholders, database teams, and technical groups in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
