Job Summary
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer (CoE) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's cloud and on-premise infrastructure strategy. This role requires a strong understanding of system stability, monitoring, and performance optimization, as well as the ability to tackle complex challenges proactively. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our systems and applications while leveraging data to improve decision-making and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Infrastructure Strategy: Design and implement a robust infrastructure strategy, including data collection pipelines, data processing, and visualization dashboards, ensuring scalability and performance needs.
- System Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved efficiency and reliability.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Lead incident response efforts, troubleshoot complex system issues, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Tooling and Infrastructure Management: Evaluate, select, and manage observability tools and infrastructure (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic).
- Alerting and Incident Management: Configure alerts based on defined thresholds to ensure timely issue notification and rapid incident response.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to embed infrastructure best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5-7 years of systems administration/engineering, with a strong understanding of monitoring principles and best practices.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Proficient in managing network infrastructure, including VLANs, routing, and firewall configurations (HP, Dell, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sophos).
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Background in DevOps practices and principles.
- Experience with SSO (Single Sign-On) and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
- Experience in developing customer-driven architectures.
Experience
5-7 years of relevant experience in systems administration/engineering.
Environment
