Backend Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in system design and experience working on technically complex projects that span multiple systems. This is a contractual position, ideal for candidates who are problem solvers and comfortable working in dynamic environments. You will contribute directly to the development and maintenance of backend systems critical to our product offerings, supporting scalability and performance. Team management is not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for complex, multi-system technical challenges.
• Ensure seamless integration of backend services across different platforms and systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using any backend web technology.
• Optimize application performance and scalability, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Leverage cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS, but any provider is acceptable) to support application deployment and maintenance.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree is mandatory.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in backend development.
• Strong skills in system design and architecture for distributed and scalable systems.
• Demonstrated experience with technically complex projects spanning multiple systems.
• Proficiency in at least one backend web technology (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, Go, etc.).
• Comfortable working with cloud service providers (ideally AWS, but others acceptable).
• Ability to work independently without the need for team management responsibilities.
• Candidates with backgrounds from product companies are preferred.
• BCA candidates will not be considered.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a product-driven environment.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of relevant backend development experience.
• Hands-on experience with technically complex, multi-system projects.
• Prior work in a product company is highly desirable.
