Job Summary

The CAUTIO-VP Hardware Engineer will play a critical role in the development of an AI-powered, cloud-connected camera platform designed for real-world mobility environments. This position involves hands-on product building from scratch and scaling hardware capabilities across various cameras and IoT devices, enabling safety, analytics, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Build the Product:

    • Design and develop an AI camera hardware platform.
    • Work on modern high-performance System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms that include CPU, GPU, and NPU-based systems.
    • Deliver working prototypes of multi-camera systems (2-6 channels) and edge AI capable hardware.
    • Make foundational decisions regarding compute architecture, memory & storage, and connectivity stack.
  • Lay the Foundation for Mobility IoT:

    • Design hardware with a platform-oriented approach that supports expansion into sensors, auxiliary vehicle devices, and future IoT modules.
    • Build a reusable architecture across various products.
  • Be Deeply Hands-On:

    • Work directly on schematics, PCB reviews, board bring-up, and debugging.
    • Address real-world challenges such as boot instability, thermal throttling, and power spikes in vehicles.
  • Camera & Vision System Excellence:

    • Drive the selection of camera modules and the tuning of lenses and image signal processing (ISP).
    • Ensure a stable pipeline for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS).
    • Optimize system performance for low-light and motion scenarios.
  • Connectivity & Cloud Integration:

    • Integrate 4G/LTE, GNSS, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
    • Enable reliable data streaming, event uploads, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:

    • 15+ years of experience in hardware and embedded systems.
    • Proven experience in 0 to 1 product development.
    • Strong hands-on expertise in:
      • SoC-based systems.
      • PCB design and debugging.
      • Power and thermal design.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with high-performance embedded computing platforms.
    • Experience in camera/video systems and edge AI devices.
    • Knowledge or experience in automotive or mobility hardware.
    • Experience in building IoT products or platforms.

Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in hardware or embedded systems, particularly in product development.
