Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced BMC Helix Lead Developer to lead the architecture, development, and optimization of solutions on the BMC Helix platform. This strategic role demands deep technical expertise across the Helix Innovation Suite, Smart IT, Digital Workplace, and Smart Reporting, as well as a solid understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise-grade IT Service Management (ITSM) implementations. The ideal candidate will evaluate current-state implementations, identify gaps, optimize performance, and drive innovation while leading a team of developers and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle on the BMC Helix platform, from requirements gathering through to deployment and post-implementation support.
- Architect, design, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance ITSM solutions using the BMC Helix Innovation Suite, REST APIs, and integrations.
- Customize and configure ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, Service Request, and Knowledge Management.
- Guide, mentor, and support junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.

Platform Assessment & Optimization
- Analyze current BMC Helix implementations to identify architectural and functional gaps.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance usability, performance, automation, and alignment with business objectives.
- Drive platform upgrades and collaborate with stakeholders for feature adoption.

Integration & Automation
- Design and implement integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CMDB, LDAP, monitoring tools, cloud platforms) using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
- Develop automation scripts, workflows, and processes to streamline service delivery and reduce manual intervention.

Reporting & Documentation
- Create custom reports and dashboards using BMC Smart Reporting to provide actionable insights to business and IT leadership.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, data models, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.

Business & ITSM Alignment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to interpret functional requirements and translate them into effective technical designs.
- Ensure solutions adhere to ITIL v3/v4 best practices and support organizational ITSM strategies.
Qualifications

Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in BMC Remedy/BMC Helix development.
- At least 2 years in a technical lead or senior developer role with team oversight responsibilities.
- Proven track record of managing full lifecycle ITSM development projects in complex enterprise environments.

- Strong expertise in:
- BMC Helix Innovation Suite (Remedy)
- Digital Workplace (DWP) & Smart IT
- Smart Reporting & CMDB
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Angular, REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Experience with Dev Studio, AR System, and Mid Tier components.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment models (SaaS, PaaS) and modern DevOps tooling (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Git) is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (LDAP, SSO, OAuth).

- Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 frameworks and their implementation in BMC Helix.
- Ability to interpret and align business and IT service requirements into technical deliverables.
