Job Summary

Global Logistics is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all diamond operations and cross-border logistics activities for the Group from Jaipur. This role involves managing diamond sourcing, grading, pricing, inventory, and international freight, customs, and documentation processes. The objective is to ensure consistent quality, optimized costs, and seamless supply chain operations across multiple global locations, contributing to the overall growth and operational excellence of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate vendor rates and monitor market prices (Rapaport, polished, and rough indices) to optimize purchase costs and improve profitability.
• Oversee international logistics and customs operations, including freight management, customs duty tracking, HS classification, documentation, and shipment tracking.
• Ensure compliance with Kimberley Process, conflict-free sourcing, import/export regulations, and security protocols for high-value shipments across all jurisdictions.
• Maintain SOPs, train regional teams, and report regularly to senior leadership on key metrics such as purchase costs, quality rejection rates, inventory accuracy, shipment performance, and vendor compliance.
• Coordinate international travel to NY, Dubai, and Hong Kong, acting as the escalation point for urgent issues related to diamonds or shipments.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of international logistics, customs procedures, HS classification, and import/export documentation.
• Proven experience managing operations across multiple countries or multi-entity groups, especially in the US, Middle East, and Asia.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills with a keen eye for diamond quality and hands-on grading experience.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate across different time zones and cultural contexts.
• Ability to travel internationally as required.

Experience with high-value shipment security, insurance, and customs clearance.

• Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.

Experience

• Demonstrated success in managing multi-country operations, logistics, and vendor relationships in the jewelry or gemstone industry.

Environment

This role is based in Jaipur, India, at the Group’s head office. It involves regular international travel to key markets such as New York, Dubai, and Hong Kong. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring coordination across multiple time zones, with a focus on high-value asset management, compliance, and logistics security.
