Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy and build the engineering foundation for India's most trusted pet healthcare ecosystem. As CTO, you will architect and scale our tech infrastructure from the ground up, bridging clinics, hospitals, and homes through world-class software and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role presents a unique opportunity to join at a critical inflection point, allowing you to build the technical core of a healthcare startup addressing a massive market gap, while working directly with the founder and a lean, ambitious team.
Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Define and execute a scalable tech strategy aligned with business goals, including internal tools, customer app, doctor app, and AI roadmap.
- Design system architecture for a multi-platform healthcare ecosystem encompassing internal operations, customer-facing app, and healthcare provider portal.
- Establish tech standards, best practices, and operational excellence across all systems.

Product & Engineering Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team from scratch.
- Lead product development across internal tools (CRM, prescription management, diagnostics workflows) and customer-facing applications.
- Drive prioritization of features aligned with clinical needs and business impact.

Infrastructure & Operations
- Build robust, secure, and compliant infrastructure for healthcare data handling.
- Ensure system reliability, data security, and regulatory compliance, including adherence to HIPAA principles and data privacy.
- Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, monitoring, and incident management practices.

AI & Innovation
- Plan and execute AI/ML initiatives for diagnostics support, predictive analytics, and operational automation.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that enhance clinical outcomes and efficiency.

Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with the clinical team to understand workflows, pain points, and technical requirements.
- Partner with business leadership on roadmap planning and go-to-market strategies.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications

Background & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience in B2C/B2B Software as a Service (SaaS), preferably in healthcare, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.

Technical Expertise
- Full-stack development experience across web (React, Node.js, Python, etc.) and mobile (iOS/Android).
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency with database design (SQL & NoSQL), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), system design, and scalable architecture.

Leadership & Soft Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive execution under ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort in a fast-paced, resource-constrained early-stage environment.
- Passion for healthcare and improving outcomes for patients (or in this case, pets!).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the pet healthcare or veterinary space.
- Track record of successful funding, exit, or scaling a startup.
- Experience with telemedicine or field service platforms.
- Background in product-led growth or marketplace design.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in software engineering and leadership roles within similar industries.
