Job Description

As the Creative Director you will lead the idea, copy, design, tone and direction of campaigns from
concept to execution, inspiring and motivating junior teams working under you. You craft campaigns
that make people say, “Damn, I wish I wrote that.” Your voice can change to match a client’s, and are
equally comfortable creating a totally new one when needed.
What you'll do:
1. IDEATION AND THINKING
● You will be a strong conceptual thinker that knows how to get to the heart of a creative
challenge and build compelling brand stories
● You will be experienced in creating integrated creative concepts across a variety of brands
and across all channels including digital, experiential, social, activations and film
● You think strategically and demonstrate a keen awareness of global, national, micro and
macro trends
2. CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION
● You will develop creative campaigns that impress clients, deliver on their requirements, are
measurable
● You will develop and deliver pitches, that impress clients, and successfully bring to life the
proposed campaign
● You will Work with clients to amend ideas based on their wishes, knowing how to
communicate what is and isn’t possible in order to achieve the intended results.
● You will be a confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills that
ensure your team’s ideas get buy-in from both internal and client audiences
● You can get under the skin of your clients’ brands becoming a trusted partner to them and
drive their creative strategy
3. LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL
● You are comfortable leading a team across multiple projects from conception to completion
in accordance with deadlines
● You are a strong mentor who can use your experience to develop and grow those in your
team
● You will be able to balance being both hands on when required, working as part of a creative
team, while overseeing other projects in a core directional capacity
● You will take responsibility for all creative aspects of our own Agency’s brand, building the
perception of creative strategy
4. Market Impact & Recognition
● Design and execute a strategy that will result in Unigage’s work being recognised, admired
and respected by the industry, clients (existing and prospective), and talent (existing and
prospective)
● Produce work that demonstrates Unigage understanding of market insights, culture, and
creative prowess
What we’re looking for:
● Minimum 10+ years’ experience writing in a fast-paced environment with good
understanding of client’s business/category and demonstrate a best in class creative
approach in offering creative solutions to an assigned client or category
● Proven ability to think beyond the campaign and help develop and drive creative marketing
solutions (platforms) for client brands, with an emphasis on digital media.
● Sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; has broad
knowledge and perspective; is future oriented; can help create competitive and breakthrough
strategies and plans. Can connect strategies to creative solutions
● Sets and maintains high standards commensurate with the company’s creative expectations
● Ability to think in abstract terms; can make connections between unrelated notions; can
formulate innovative ideas where others cannot; seen as original and value-added in
brainstorming sessions.
● Is dedicated to exceeding client’s creative expectations; acts with the client’s best interest in
mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with client and gains their trust and
respect
What Will Make You a Fit
● Leading and mentoring the in-house agency copywriters, improving their tactical thinking and
ideas
● Setting the bar for creativity and ensuring the agency’s creative is as creative and more
effective than what an external agency could produce
● Review all creative and copy within the agency, ensuring it hits and exceeds the expectations
of the brief and Contribute to the overall success and culture of the agency by sharing your
passion, and way with words, thinking and storytelling
● Collaborating with designers, art directors and other writers of varying subject areas within
the business
● Assist the Creative Director and collaborators at all levels to clarify briefs, and challenge
audience insights; giving the creative department every chance to define expectational work
What Will You Bring
● Excellent writing and editing capabilities. Simplify the complex. Make every piece of work
interesting; Significant experience in writing, creative or editorial experience
● Experience leading a team of creative writers. If you haven’t, that’s ok too. If you’re up for the

● Outstanding attention to detail, including an ability to check content for style and SEO
optimisation;
