Job Summary

We are looking for a Finance Head / Head of Finance who can take end-to-end ownership of the finance function. This role has a strong emphasis on Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), business partnering, project costing, and financial planning, while ensuring robust controllership and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis.
• Develop monthly and quarterly Management Information Systems (MIS) and management dashboards for promoters and senior leadership.
• Partner with business, sales, projects, procurement, and operations teams to drive financial performance.
• Provide data-driven insights on revenue, margins, costs, working capital, and profitability.
• Build financial models to support business expansion, international operations, and strategic investments.
• Establish robust project costing and profitability frameworks for large, customized engineering/manufacturing projects.
• Monitor project-wise revenue, costs, margins, cash flows, and working capital.
• Evaluate commercial and financial implications of large project bids and contracts.
• Support management in pricing, bidding, and commercial decision-making for large contracts.
• Develop mechanisms to track actual vs. estimated project costs and identify margin leakages.
• Own the end-to-end finance function including accounting, closing, reporting, taxation, compliance, and audits.
• Strengthen financial controls, processes, and governance as the organization scales.
• Oversee statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance with support from external consultants.
• Manage cash flows, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management.
• Build and institutionalize the finance function and processes for a rapidly scaling organization.
• Establish appropriate systems, controls, MIS, and reporting structures from the ground up.
• Lead and develop the existing finance/accounting team.
• Effectively manage external GST, tax, and CA/audit partners.
• Help transition the organization from a promoter-driven finance setup to a more structured and scalable finance function.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in Finance, FP&A, Business Finance, Controllership, or a combination of these.
• FP&A experience is mandatory.
• CA (Chartered Accountant) / CMA (Cost Management Accountant) / MBA in Finance or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Candidates from Big 4 firms with subsequent hands-on FP&A/business finance experience can also be considered.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in managing large engineering/manufacturing projects and related financing.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Experience

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in finance roles, particularly focusing on FP&A, controllership, and business finance.
