Founding Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a Founding Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling an AI-powered platform aimed at aiding financial advisors in growing their businesses. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to design, develop, and maintain essential backend services, deploy machine learning models, and contribute to product innovation.

Responsibilities

• API Development: Design and build REST APIs for both internal and external use.
• Full-Stack Contributions: Collaborate on front-end development using Next.js, React, and Tailwind.
• Backend Engineering: Develop, optimize, and scale backend services using Python, MongoDB, SQL (Snowflake), and DynamoDB.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy, scale, and maintain production services on AWS (ECS, Lambda, CDK).
• Machine Learning Integration: Work with ML models and refine prompt engineering strategies.
• Third-Party Integrations: Connect and integrate APIs from external platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years as a full-stack engineer, with strong backend expertise.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining services on AWS or other cloud providers.
• Backend Tech: Proficiency in Python, MongoDB, SQL (Snowflake), and DynamoDB.
• Frontend Tech: Familiarity with Next.js, Tailwind, TypeScript, React Query, and ShadCN.
• Scalability & Testing: Ability to write high-quality, well-tested, and scalable code.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, ideally in FinTech.
• Strong prompt engineering and ML deployment experience.

Experience

5+ years as a full-stack engineer with a strong focus on backend development.
