Profile

Qualifications

Graduate / post-graduate from accredited law school

Experience

Ø  13 – 15 years’ experience in litigation management and related areas of laws

Ø  Preferably from a reputed law firm or large Indian company / MNC

Role and Responsibilities

Ø  Independently managing litigations and dispute resolution proceedings.

Ø  Providing strategic legal advice in relation to dispute resolution matters and civil and criminal proceedings.

Ø  Coordinating with and instructing external counsels and firms.

Ø  Drafting and vetting of pleadings and notices, replies, power of attorneys and affidavits.

Ø  Ongoing review of all litigation and dispute resolutions matters to determine best way forward.

Ø  Creating a panel of competent and affordable counsel on a pan-India basis.

Ø  Updating stakeholders of legal developments, in particular new laws and judicial precedents.

Ø  Providing legal support and proactively improving Group’s processes

Ø  Managing external relationships including with counsels and liaisoning with law enforcement agencies.

Ø  Building capability within team, including supervising work of team members and ensuring their training and development.

Ø  Facilitating knowledge management and automation of litigation tracking.

Key Skills

Ø  Strong understanding of Indian judicial processes and experience in liaisoning with and making representations to law enforcement agencies

Ø  Significant experience in litigation and disputes management including contractual disputes, consumer complaints, vendor / customer disputes, labour and employment disputes, at different forums

Ø  Excellent communication skills as the role requires interaction and coordination with internal and external stakeholders across levels

Ø  Ability to simultaneously handle multiple litigations and issues.

Ø  Work history that demonstrates leadership and ability to influence stakeholders.

Ø  Superior advocacy skills, capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure.

Ø  Excellent analytical skills and time sensitivity.

Ø  Strong collaborator and team player.

Ø  Fluency (oral/written) in English
