Job Summary

The Head of sourcing & engagement is responsible for managing the end-to-end driver supply chain for 4-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) corporate fleet. This role involves scaling driver recruitment, building and managing vendor ecosystems, designing compensation and incentive programs, and implementing retention strategies. The position is critical to ensuring driver availability, optimizing costs, and supporting multi-city expansion, with success measured through driver retention, cost efficiency, and supply reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Driver Hiring & Onboarding: Develop and execute large-scale driver acquisition strategies across multiple cities, utilizing diverse sourcing channels such as field hiring, referrals, digital platforms, and vendor partnerships. Ensure fast, compliant onboarding processes including documentation, background checks, licensing, and training. Manage hiring funnel metrics like cost per hire, turnaround time, and joining ratio.
  • Vendor & Sourcing Partner Management: Identify, onboard, and oversee driver sourcing and fleet vendor partners. Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs, and payout structures, while managing vendor P&L. Monitor vendor performance through scorecards and drive continuous improvement. Build a scalable, multi-vendor supply model to mitigate risks during expansion.
  • Compensation & Incentive Design: Create competitive and sustainable driver compensation models. Develop incentive programs aligned with utilization, safety, and service SLAs. Ensure payout accuracy and transparency, balancing driver earnings satisfaction with company economics.
  • Retention & Engagement: Drive driver retention as a core KPI by implementing structured programs to reduce attrition. Launch engagement initiatives, grievance redressal mechanisms, and loyalty frameworks. Analyze attrition data by cohort and city to implement corrective actions.
  • Performance & Productivity Management: Monitor driver utilization, attendance, and compliance metrics. Enhance fleet uptime through proactive supply and vendor management. Collaborate with Operations and City Heads to meet SLA targets.
  • Process & Systems: Implement data-driven dashboards for supply and vendor performance tracking. Standardize SOPs for hiring, vendor management, and payouts across multiple cities. Leverage technology to automate payouts and attendance tracking.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a reputed A/B-Class institute.
  • 12 to 15 years of experience in gig workforce management or large blue-collar workforce handling.
  • Proven experience managing a driver base of 500+ drivers.
  • Strong background in vendor management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Expertise in designing compensation structures and retention strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong operational execution capabilities.
  • Ability to scale processes effectively in a high-growth, multi-city environment.

Experience

  • 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in workforce management, vendor management, or large-scale blue-collar workforce handling.
  • Proven track record managing a driver or gig workforce of 500+ employees.
