Job Description
Reviewing US Individual & Business tax returns (Form 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S) including State income tax return.<br /> •<br /> Expertise in International information reporting (Form 5471/5472/8865/FBAR/8938).<br /> •<br /> Understand the clients' filing requirements in the event of gift & inheritance.<br /> •<br /> Review the business financials and suggest improvements in managing books, payroll, and other services as needed.<br /> •<br /> Verify and report any vendor/interest/dividend payments for 1099 filings.<br /> •<br /> Responsible for managing extensive client leads end-to-end, including data gathering, validation, client clarifications, review, delivery of returns, and billing.<br /> •<br /> Manage each client’s tax compliance, setting clear expectations for work scope and delivery timelines.<br /> •<br /> Recognize complex client issues and effectively communicate those to the Manager/Director and client at the appropriate time.<br /> •<br /> Oversee all compliance processes and monitor various filing requirements.<br /> •<br /> Actively build and maintain strong client relationships.<br /> •<br /> Full involvement in the billing process and client follow-ups.<br /> Other Responsibilities:<br /> •<br /> Solid understanding of US tax implications for business owners, as well as business & individual tax filings.<br /> •<br /> Research, analyze, and interpret changing tax rules and regulations.<br /> •<br /> Explain tax laws to clients, helping them understand their legal obligations and adapt to changes in tax legislation.<br /> •<br /> Represent clients before the IRS for tax matters with proper Power of Attorney (POA).<br /> •<br /> Participate in consultancy and research projects.<br /> •<br /> Regularly contribute to in-house training meetings/management group meetings.<br /> •<br /> Supervise Tax Assistants in collaboration with managers, contributing to their career development.<br /> •<br /> Experience working with Drake/Lacerte tax software is an added advantage.<br /> Specific Skill Set:<br /> •<br /> Proficient in understanding various reports from accounting & payroll software.<br /> •<br /> Strong general computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PPT, PDF, etc.).<br /> •<br /> Excellent communication, customer service management, and presentation skills.<br /> •<br /> Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities and strong analytical and technical research skills.<br /> •<br /> Capable of mentoring and guiding junior staff.<br /> •<br /> Able to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.<br /> •<br /> Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
