Job Summary

The Interior Design Lead at abcoffee will be responsible for overseeing the entire design function, leading a team of interior designers, and ensuring that all projects align with brand standards, timelines, and budgets. This role is pivotal in shaping the aesthetic and functional aspects of new stores, renovations, and expansion projects within the QSR, café, retail, and hospitality sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the interior design team, including project allocation and monitoring individual deliverables.
• Own the end-to-end design process for new store openings, renovations, and expansion projects.
• Set and maintain design direction to ensure consistency with the brand’s look, feel, and customer experience.
• Review and approve layouts, design concepts, working drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and material specifications.
• Manage design timelines, ensuring the team meets project milestones and deadlines.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Projects, Operations, Procurement, Real Estate, consultants, and vendors.
• Conduct site visits to ensure the design intent is maintained during project execution.
• Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives while maintaining high design quality.
• Develop and uphold design standards, processes, and guidelines for the organization.
• Identify team development needs through regular feedback, mentoring, and performance management.
• Manage multiple projects and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in interior design, preferably within QSR, café, retail, or hospitality sectors.
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of designers.
• Strong understanding of commercial interiors, space planning, materials, and project execution.
• Excellent design judgment with the ability to balance creative, operational, and commercial requirements.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
• Excellent ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cost optimization and value engineering.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.

Experience
