Job Summary

The Azure Data Architect will design and implement comprehensive data solutions utilizing Azure technologies, focusing on enhancing scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency. This role will be integral in creating customized architectures for the manufacturing sector, while ensuring that data governance and security standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive data solutions with Azure Databricks centered on scalability, performance, and cost savings.
• Lead the development of data mesh, data lake, and data warehouse architectures tailored for the manufacturing sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and develop detailed technical designs and actionable solutions.
• Provide hands-on support for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization using Azure tools.
• Optimize Databricks clusters and jobs for performance and cost efficiency, adhering to Spark and PySpark best practices.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security protocols, and disaster recovery standards within Azure.
• Create and update technical design documents that support business objectives.
• Advise development teams on CI/CD processes, data engineering, and analytics best practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years as a Data Architect with a specialization in cloud-based data platforms.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure technologies including Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage.
• Expertise in the manufacturing sector; skilled in Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data processing.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Databricks architecture, including control and compute plane functionalities.
• Proficient in designing secure networking configurations and governance strategies for Databricks environments.
• Familiarity with data warehousing methodologies, including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP is a significant advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by exceptional communication abilities to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within teams.

Experience

• A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in data architecture and Azure cloud technologies.
