Job Summary
The Head of Category – Fashion will own the end-to-end Fashion business with complete responsibility for category strategy, buying, merchandising, sourcing, pricing, inventory, vendor partnerships, and profit and loss (P&L). This role is designed for a commercial leader with experience in building and scaling large fashion categories in value retail and a deep understanding of mass-market consumer behavior.
Responsibilities

Category & Business Ownership
- Own the Fashion category P&L, revenue, margins, and growth.
- Define category strategy, assortment architecture, and pricing roadmap.
- Drive category expansion while improving profitability and inventory productivity.

Buying & Merchandising
- Lead seasonal buying, assortment planning, pricing, and promotions.
- Build winning assortments across Men's, Women's, Kids', Footwear, and Accessories.
- Balance fashion trends with value pricing and regional demand.

Vendor & Sourcing
- Develop strong relationships with manufacturers, sourcing partners, and vendors.
- Negotiate commercials, improve sourcing efficiencies, and ensure supply continuity.
- Drive private label and exclusive product opportunities.

Inventory & Supply Chain
- Optimize inventory planning, replenishment, and sell-through.
- Minimize markdowns while improving stock availability and working capital efficiency.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations for seamless execution.

Growth & Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Product, and Finance teams to drive category growth.
- Build scalable processes and lead a high-performing category team.
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in Fashion Buying, Category Management, or Merchandising.
- Proven ownership of category P&L, revenue, gross margins, and inventory.
- Deep understanding of value fashion retail and mass-market consumer behavior.
- Strong vendor sourcing and commercial negotiation experience.
- Experience managing large-format retail fashion categories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in digital and omnichannel retail models.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Leadership experience in building and managing cross-functional teams.
Experience
A minimum of 10–15 years in relevant experience is required, particularly in Fashion Buying, Category Management, or Merchandising within the value retail sector.
