Analytics & Insights Lead
Job Summary
The Analytics & Insights Lead will serve as a strategic partner to the Founder & CEO and senior leadership, transforming complex, ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable insights. This role is pivotal in understanding the underlying drivers of business performance, diagnosing issues, and supporting decision-making across various functions such as growth, operations, finance, and strategy. The ideal candidate is an analytical generalist who thrives in a fast-paced, uncertain environment and can turn data into meaningful narratives that influence business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Solve ambiguous business problems by structuring loosely defined questions into investigative analytical frameworks.
- Diagnose performance by identifying the core drivers behind significant business movements rather than just reporting metrics.
- Generate insights by uncovering patterns, relationships, and opportunities that are not immediately apparent from standard reports.
- Challenge assumptions by testing prevailing explanations and ensuring conclusions are evidence-based.
- Create a common fact base to help leadership distinguish between knowns, beliefs, and unknowns.
- Translate complex analysis into business language that senior leaders can easily understand and act upon.
- Support critical decisions by building credibility, providing context, and contributing to recommendations and experiments.
- Build analytical systems by developing reusable frameworks and diagnostic approaches to reduce dependency on individual intuition.
Qualifications
- Analytical reasoning: Ability to deconstruct messy problems and determine what needs to be understood.
- Data fluency: Proficiency in working directly with data using tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker), or equivalent.
- Business judgment: Understanding that analysis should lead to improved understanding or decision-making.
