Job Summary

The Research Analyst – Fixed Income will assist the fund management team in assessing debt securities and conducting credit research. This role will provide actionable insights that support investment decisions across fixed-income portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Credit Research & Analysis

  • Perform detailed credit analysis of corporates, financial institutions, and sovereign issuers.
  • Assess financial statements, cash flow profiles, leverage ratios, and repayment capacity.
  • Monitor issuer credit quality and identify early warning signals.

• Investment Evaluation

  • Analyze fixed-income instruments, including government securities, corporate bonds, and structured products.
  • Evaluate risk-return profiles to support portfolio construction decisions.
  • Provide recommendations on security selection and relative value opportunities.

• Quantitative Analysis

  • Use quantitative models to evaluate pricing, yield, and risk of fixed-income securities.
  • Perform scenario analysis and stress testing to understand potential impacts on fixed-income portfolios.
  • Utilize financial software and tools to conduct sophisticated analyses and generate insights.

• Market & Macro Analysis

  • Track macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, liquidity conditions, and policy developments (RBI/SEBI).
  • Analyze yield curve movements and interest rate trends.
  • Produce market outlook reports and strategy notes.

• Portfolio Monitoring

  • Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings for credit events and market developments.
  • Collaborate with the Fund Manager to develop and implement fixed-income investment strategies.

• Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare credit notes, investment memos, and periodic review reports.
  • Maintain research databases and issuer files.

• Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to internal investment policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., SEBI regulations).
  • Highlight risks proactively and recommend mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Education:

  • MBA (Finance), CA, or CFA preferred.
  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, or related fields.

• Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience in fixed income research, credit analysis, or fund management.
  • Prior experience in asset management companies, rating agencies, or banks is preferred.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of debt markets and fixed-income instruments.
  • Financial modelling and credit analysis expertise.
  • Knowledge of interest rate dynamics and bond valuation techniques.

• Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify risks.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
