Job Summary
The Lead FP&A will oversee financial planning and accounting for UrbanKisaan, a profitable, multi-country company that builds capital-intensive infrastructure, alongside a software and research business. This role involves managing budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, forming the backbone of financial operations and strategic decision-making within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own the annual budget and manage the rolling forecast and long-range plan across all business lines and regions.
- Build and maintain financial models for new facilities, commercial agreements, and capital decisions.
- Partner with business leaders to set performance targets, track outcomes, and explain variances.
- Prepare financial materials for board meetings, investors, and lenders alongside the CXOs and finance team.
- Develop reporting frameworks, unit economics measures, and dashboards to provide leadership with real-time business insights.
- Enhance planning processes, systems, and controls to scale the company across various markets.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8 to 10 years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or similar analytical finance roles, particularly in high-growth or multi-entity contexts.
- Skills:
- Proficient in financial modeling, unit economics, scenario planning, and capital budgeting.
- Proven track record of enhancing an FP&A function rather than merely operating an existing one.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex financial information to boards and investors.
- Operational Comfort: Familiar with both capital-intensive operations and software/research product P&L.
- Ownership: Demonstrated high ownership, working closely with founders in a dynamic environment.
- Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of agriculture technology and precision farming would be a plus.
- Experience with fundraising processes and investor relations.
Experience
8 to 10 years of relevant experience in FP&A or comparable analytical finance roles, particularly within high-growth and multi-entity businesses.
