Job Summary
The Manager – Compliance and Legal is a crucial role designated as a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) under the IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, 2025. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing legal obligations, and providing support to business teams through audits, inspections, and policy development.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, 2025, including regulatory reporting and filing within prescribed timelines.
- Monitor adherence to the Code of Conduct applicable to the Fund Management Entity (FME) and its KMPs.
- Oversee compliance with FEMA provisions regarding cross-border fund flows, NRI/OCI investments, and foreign portfolio activities.
- Implement and maintain policies related to the Prevention of Insider Trading (PIT), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Know Your Customer (KYC).
- Track and implement amendments to IFSCA regulations, circulars, and guidelines promptly.
- Serve as the primary interface with IFSCA and other regulatory authorities.
Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:
- CS (Company Secretary) from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), which is highly desirable.
- An LLB or LLM specializing in securities or financial services law will be advantageous.
- ICSI Certification prescribed for Compliance Officers for GIFT City.

Experience Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in related activities within the securities market or financial products in a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in an eligible institution in IFSC, India, or any foreign jurisdiction will be considered.
- Experience working in Fund Management, Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), or Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Strong interpersonal, team-working, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective time management and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to interpret and analyze regulatory amendments.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years in compliance or legal roles related to the securities market or financial services.
