Job Summary
The SM - Legal (Plotted) role is essential for managing the organization's legal affairs related to real estate development. This position involves handling court cases, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization's goals by effectively managing litigations and legal documentation.
Responsibilities
- Handle and follow up on court cases as required, ensuring timely responses and actions.
- Collaborate with external advocates to manage litigations pending before various courts, including RERA, Consumer Forums, Civil Court, High Court, and Supreme Court.
- Track and monitor all litigations, providing timely updates on day-to-day court proceedings.
- Draft legal notices, respond to legal notices, and review and vet drafts shared by external advocates, ensuring timely filing of documents with the concerned court.
- Conduct title due diligence, prepare preliminary title reports, and evaluate land records, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Draft agreements to sell, sale deeds, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), lease deeds, and other contracts.
- Stay updated on existing laws and changes governing real estate development, capitalizing on emerging opportunities for the organization.
- Ensure effective management and organization of legal documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of real estate laws and litigation processes.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external advocates.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating legal documents and land records.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in legal research and staying updated on legal changes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with RERA and consumer protection laws.
- Knowledge of land-related cases and real estate transactions.
- Familiarity with legal software and document management systems.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in legal practice, particularly in real estate and litigation.
Environment
- This position is based in Bengaluru and requires full-time, in-office work. The role may involve occasional travel to court or other locations as necessary.
