Our client is a global employee engagement and social impact platform that partners with leading enterprises to create meaningful workplace experiences through corporate volunteering and purpose-driven activities.
Operating across 100+ countries and 30+ languages, the company helps organisations design and deliver engaging employee experiences through virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats. Its offerings span end-to-end programme management, curated volunteering activities, hosted experiences, and impact measurement.
As the business expands into new employee engagement formats, it is looking for an entrepreneurial professional to build, launch, and scale innovative offerings.
We are looking for a Category Manager / Entrepreneur-in-Residence to take ownership of the development and commercial success of the company's employee engagement offerings.
This is a founder-style role for someone who can take an idea from concept to launch, build repeatable product offerings, and drive their commercial performance. You will define what each offering looks like, identify its target audience, shape the customer experience, and make decisions around product design, materials, packaging, pricing, and positioning.
Working closely with Experience Design, Logistics, Product, Sales, and Account Management teams, you will be responsible for building offerings that customers value, that can be delivered consistently, and that generate sustainable business growth.
Define the purpose, value proposition, differentiation, and target audience for each offering.
Identify priority customer segments, personas, and use cases where each format can deliver the greatest value.
Partner with Activity and Experience Design teams to identify and prioritise high-potential activities.
Evaluate market opportunities, assess competitors and alternatives, and identify opportunities to expand the portfolio.
Take new offerings from concept to launch while scaling successful formats into repeatable product lines.
Work with Experience Design teams to shape the end-to-end experience for participants and programme champions.
Develop clear instructions, activity guides, impact storytelling, and supporting materials.
Define training requirements for hosts and programme champions.
Ensure offerings are intuitive, engaging, and easy to execute, whether facilitator-led or self-guided.
Continuously improve the experience based on customer and participant feedback.
Own decisions around product formats, materials, packaging, and overall presentation.
Work with vendors and Logistics teams to develop and refine physical products and activity kits.
Balance product quality, unit economics, shipping constraints, sustainability, and the overall unboxing experience.
Establish quality standards and review production samples to ensure consistency.
Identify opportunities to improve sourcing, costs, and operational efficiency without compromising the customer experience.
Define the positioning, messaging, and value proposition for each offering in collaboration with the Content team.
Work with content and design teams to develop launch assets, including landing pages, microsites, and sales presentations.
Partner with Sales and Account Management teams to commercialise new offerings and build a sales pipeline following launch.
Equip customer-facing teams with the messaging and materials required to communicate the value of each offering.
Track launch performance and identify opportunities to improve adoption and commercial traction.
Work closely with Execution and Customer Success teams to gather feedback from customers, programme champions, and participants.
Identify recurring issues in delivery, materials, and instructions, and drive corrective actions with clear ownership.
Establish regular review cycles to evaluate performance and improve individual offerings.
Use customer insights and performance data to refine product features, delivery, and positioning.
Own the commercial performance of assigned offerings, including revenue, cost per participant, margins, and repeat purchase rates.
Define pricing structures, bundles, and volume-based discounts.
Monitor unit economics and conduct regular margin reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
Make data-informed decisions on pricing, standardisation, and portfolio optimisation, including when to scale, reprice, or discontinue an offering.
Balance customer value, operational feasibility, and profitability while building scalable product lines.
4–8 years of experience in category management, product management, or a founder/early-team role within CPG, D2C, gifting, activity kits, or physical-product businesses.
Experience taking a physical product from concept to market, including vendor coordination, product development, packaging, and costing.
Strong commercial acumen and experience with P&L ownership, pricing, unit economics, and margin optimisation.
An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership from ideation through execution.
A hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work closely with vendors on product samples and collaborate with Sales teams on commercialisation.
Strong product sense and an understanding of what makes an experience intuitive, engaging, and enjoyable for the end user.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to bring ideas to market by working across multiple teams.
Good to have: Experience with games, toys, activity kits, or other experience-led physical products.
Build from the ground up: Take ownership of offerings from initial concept through launch and scale.
Entrepreneurial ownership: Make decisions across product development, customer experience, pricing, and commercial strategy.
End-to-end accountability: Work across product, operations, marketing, and sales to build successful offerings.
Business impact: Directly influence revenue, margins, customer experience, and the growth of an expanding portfolio.
