Apigee Architect
Job Summary
The Apigee Architect will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of API solutions leveraging Apigee Edge. This position requires a deep understanding of API architecture and security, contributing to the organization's digital transformation by enabling seamless integrations and enhancing API management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop scalable API solutions using Apigee Edge, including hybrid and cloud deployments.
- Implement API security models such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
- Design and implement RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring best practices in versioning, throttling, rate-limiting, caching, and logging.
- Develop and manage API monetization models and developer portal implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs with Cloud environments like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript to develop API solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in API architecture, design, and development.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Apigee Edge.
- Hands-on experience with API security models (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, OpenID Connect).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Knowledge of API versioning, throttling, rate-limiting, caching, and logging.
- Expertise in Cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, business users, and development teams.
Preferred Skills
- Apigee certification (Apigee API Engineer, Apigee Certified Professional).
- Experience integrating Apigee with BigQuery, Firebase, and other Google Cloud services.
- Understanding of GraphQL and Event-Driven Architectures.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-based API analytics and monitoring.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in API architecture, design, and development.
