SAP Plant Maintenance Consultant
Job Summary
The SAP Plant Maintenance Consultant is responsible for providing comprehensive support and enhancements for SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) modules, including integration with asset management, project management, and work management processes. The consultant will be involved in end-to-end configuration, system testing, user support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role significantly contributes to the efficiency and reliability of maintenance operations, supporting the organization’s asset management goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) support, including asset management, project management, and work management processes.
- Manage application maintenance and enhancement projects, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Liaise with business users to gather requirements and deliver tailored SAP solutions.
- Conduct system testing, manage defect updates, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) signoff, and oversee release/deployment activities.
- Deliver detailed impact assessments and solutions for change requests.
- Assess and recommend upgrades for support packs and enhancement packs.
- Manage major incidents, prepare cutover plans, and handle requests for change (RFC) implementations.
- Build and maintain documentation and catalogues for supported applications and known errors.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and assist in the design of management reports.
- Engage proactively with business stakeholders to build trust and foster strong relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE) or equivalent.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in SAP Plant Maintenance.
- Strong experience in SAP PM, PS (Project Systems), SAP ECC, and SAP S/4 HANA.
- End-to-end configuration experience in SAP PM/CS/PS modules.
- Proficiency in integrating SAP with asset management, scheduling, maintenance execution, field service management, project management, and asset management systems.
- Experience integrating SAP PM with other SAP modules, including SD (Sales & Distribution), MM (Materials Management), FICO (Finance & Controlling), and HR.
- Ability to configure plant structure, technical objects, notifications, IDOCs, order types, maintenance plans, task lists, bills of materials, calibration of test equipment, refurbishment of repairable spares, measuring points/counters, costing, budgeting, and settlement.
- Experience with Fiori applications and guiding technical teams in related configurations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing, and defect management.
- SAP certification in Plant Maintenance (preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Utilities industry experience.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA in PM, Asset Management, MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling), and PS.
- Knowledge of SAP MM and SD integration for detailed reporting in PM/CS.
- Familiarity with support projects and customer engagement.
- Ability to assist customers with business case development for SAP enhancements.
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in SAP Plant Maintenance consulting, with at least 5 years in relevant SAP modules.
- Proven history of full life cycle project implementation and configuration.
- Experience supporting SAP ECC and S/4 HANA environments.
Environment
- Location: Hyderabad, India.
- Work Setting: Full-time, on-site.
- Immediate to 30 days notice period required.
- Typical office environment with collaboration across technical and business teams.
Salary
- Estimated budget: ₹10 – 15 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum).
