Job Summary

The Creative Lead role at Optima involves overseeing the entire creative output, from video launches to content creation, ensuring it aligns with the founder's voice and the brand's aesthetic standards. This position requires a hands-on approach to production and the ability to manage the editorial register effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own the creative output end-to-end: Collaborate on and produce videos, ads, and infotainment content, ensuring high-quality standards regardless of the production method.
  • Ship hands-on as the default: Create and expedite content production while maintaining oversight to direct agency partners and ensure alignment with brand vision.
  • Set and maintain the editorial register: Manage copy, visual direction, and aesthetic discipline across all platforms, ensuring clarity and restraint in messaging.
  • Take responsibility for Optima's social presence: Oversee brand voice and consistency across social channels, executing or scoping content as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Growth Product Manager: Work on projects that are crucial for customer acquisition and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6–10+ years in creative roles at premium consumer brands, media companies, or respected indie studios.
  • Creative Portfolio: Demonstrated success in executing campaigns that exceed original expectations, influencing brand perception or setting industry trends.
  • Versatility: Ability to produce both traditional editorial content and AI-generated work, understanding when to use each.
  • Focus on results: Prioritize outcomes driven by taste and agency rather than solely pedigree.
  • Non-traditional backgrounds welcome: Open to candidates with unique experiences that may surpass traditional qualifications.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with both traditional and digital media production.
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and expression.

Experience

  • Years of experience: 6–10+ years in creative roles with a proven track record of impactful work.

Environment

  • The work environment is dynamic, requiring a blend of in-house production and collaboration with external agencies, adaptable to changing timelines and project needs.

Salary

  • Compensation Highlights: Top-of-market compensation, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), and health insurance.

Growth Opportunities

  • Engage in potentially expansive creative projects that can influence the direction of the brand and opportunities for future leadership roles as the organization grows.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance and participation in ESOPs are included, promoting long-term investment in the company.
