Grant Proposal Development Intern
Job Summary
As a Grant Proposal Development Intern at Bansa Community Library (BCL), you will play a key role in supporting our Grant Development Team to secure funding for impactful educational initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, contribute directly to the empowerment of rural communities, and help expand access to knowledge and learning resources. The role is flexible and remote-friendly, making it ideal for students and young professionals passionate about education, libraries, and community development.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research grant opportunities that align with BCL’s mission and current initiatives.
- Draft compelling grant proposals tailored to donor requirements, emphasizing the library’s impact.
- Create pitch decks and presentations for potential funders and partners using tools like Canva.
- Assist in building a grants calendar and maintain a database of grant opportunities and submissions.
- Support other fundraising-related tasks as needed within the Grant Development Team.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Interest and/or experience in education, libraries, or social development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
- Proficiency with Canva or similar design tools for creating presentations and pitch decks.
- Understanding of grant research and funding strategies (preferred).
- Educational background: Open to undergraduate students or recent graduates (any field).
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in grant writing or nonprofit fundraising.
- Familiarity with database management and tracking tools.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a flexible, remote work setting.
Experience
- Minimum Experience: 0 years (internship is open to candidates with no prior professional experience).
- Any previous involvement in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
Environment
- Work Setting: Fully remote and flexible.
- Time Commitment: Minimum 6–8 hours per week for at least 6 weeks.
