About Jio BlackRock: In July 2023, BlackRock and Jio Financial Services Limited (JFS) announced an agreement to form Jio BlackRock, a 50:50 joint venture that combines the respective strengths and trusted brands of BlackRock and JFS to deliver tech-enabled access to affordable, innovative investment solutions for millions of investors in India.
The ambition is to become market leader in asset management by 2030. According to estimates from the Association of Mutual Funds in India, assets under management of Indian mutual funds doubled to INR 44.39 trillion (USD 542 billion) in the five years to June 2023.
Jio BlackRock brings BlackRock’s deep expertise and talent in investment management, risk management, product excellence, access to technology, operations, scale, and intellectual capital around markets, while JFS contributes local market knowledge, customer reach, digital infrastructure capabilities and robust execution capabilities.
Together, the partnership will introduce a new player to the India market with a unique combination of scope, scale, and resources. JFS and BlackRock are targeting initial investment of US$150 million each in the joint venture.
The joint venture will have its own management team and will launch operations post all regulatory and statutory approvals. The approval process for license is in progress and expected to come in next 9-12 months
About this role: The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will play a critical role in aligning human resources strategies with business goals to support our company's growth and success. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HR management within the financial services or wealth management industry, with a strong focus on talent management, employee relations, and strategic HR planning. This role requires a proactive and strategic mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to drive HR initiatives that foster a high-performance culture.

Key responsibilities
Hands on HR Partnership:
- Collaborate with senior leadership and Head of HR to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support organizational goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations on HR matters to influence decision-making and drive business success.
Talent Management:
- Develop and implement talent management strategies, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning.
- Identify and nurture high-potential employees, ensuring a robust talent pipeline for key roles.
Employee Relations:
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, inclusive of developing employee policies.
Performance Management:
- Drive the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Coach managers on effective performance management practices to enhance employee productivity and engagement.
Learning and Development:
- Assess training needs and design learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Promote a culture of implementing JioBlackRock Principles and Behaviors across the organization
HR Policy and Compliance:
- Develop, update, implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations, and ensure company practices are compliant.
Organizational Development:
- Lead organizational development initiatives, including change management, team building, and organizational restructuring.
- Conduct regular assessments of organizational health and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and retention.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare and present HR reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Time to fill key positions and always have succession planning ready for designated roles
- Employee retention rate.
- Quality of hire (measured through performance reviews, check-ins and feedback).
Employee Engagement and Satisfaction:
- Employee engagement scores (measured through surveys, Focus Groups etc).
- Employee satisfaction ratings.
- Number of employee grievances and resolution time.
Performance Management:
- Completion rate of performance reviews.
- Percentage of employees with development plans.
- Improvement in employee performance ratings over time.
Learning and Development:
- Number of training hours per employee.
- Employee participation rate in training programs.
- Impact of training on employee performance (measured through post-training assessments).
HR Compliance and Payroll:
- Compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Number of compliance issues or audits.
- Timeliness and accuracy of HR policy updates.
Organizational Development:
- Effectiveness of change management initiatives (measured through feedback and success metrics).
- Improvement in organizational health scores.
- Team-building activity participation and feedback.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Accuracy and timeliness of HR reports.
- Utilization of HR data in decision-making.
- Improvements in key HR metrics over time.
Key skills and experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HRBP role within the financial services or wealth management industry.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulatory requirements in India.
- Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and strategic HR planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
