Job Summary

The Azure Logic App / API Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing APIs within the Azure ecosystem. This role emphasizes an API-first approach, ensuring standardization, security, and scalability while enabling seamless integration across business applications. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to define specifications, implement APIs, and maintain robust deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• API Design & Specification

  • Adopt an API Design-First approach using OpenAPI (Swagger), RAML, or AsyncAPI specifications.
  • Define API endpoints, data structures, error handling, and response codes in line with organizational standards.

• Policy Design & Configuration

  • Configure API policies such as security, routing, transformation, throttling, and caching using Azure API Management (APIM).
  • Establish governance standards to ensure consistent API performance and reliability.

• Development & Testing

  • Build and manage APIs with Azure Logic Apps and APIM.
  • Create mock APIs for early-stage validation and integration testing.
  • Perform unit testing to ensure APIs meet functionality, performance, and compliance requirements.

• Deployment & Environment Management

  • Configure backend settings in APIM (naming conventions, App Insights, Key Vault).
  • Deploy APIs into Azure APIM Dev and promote across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments via API DevOps pipelines.

• Documentation & Metadata Publishing

  • Develop detailed API documentation, including developer guides, references, and usage examples.
  • Publish API Identity Cards (metadata, usage info) in the Azure API Management Developer Portal for easy discovery and adoption.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in Azure Logic Apps and Azure API Management (APIM).
  • Hands-on experience with API design and development using OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Knowledge of Azure services such as App Insights, Key Vault, and DevOps pipelines.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in agile and cross-functional environments.

Preferred Skills

• Additional experience with other Azure services and development tools may be considered a plus.
