Director of Email Deliverability Services

Job Summary

The Director of Email Deliverability Services will lead our Email Deliverability Consulting practice, overseeing a team of deliverability consultants and defining strategies to enhance email deliverability for our enterprise clients. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and ensuring client success through innovative consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management

    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Email Deliverability Consultants across global regions.
    • Establish clear performance metrics, career development paths, and growth opportunities for team members.
    • Drive operational excellence through process optimization, resource allocation, and workflow management.
    • Foster a collaborative culture that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy & Consulting

    • Serve as the ultimate escalation point and subject matter expert for complex deliverability challenges.
    • Develop innovative email deliverability methodologies and best practices tailored to client needs.
    • Partner with enterprise clients to design comprehensive email deliverability strategies that drive business outcomes.
    • Stay updated on industry changes, including Internet Service Provider (ISP) policies, authentication standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Business Growth & Client Success

    • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to identify upsell opportunities and expand service offerings.
    • Drive revenue growth through high-quality deliverability consulting services.
    • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent delivery of measurable improvements in deliverability metrics.
    • Develop Return on Investment (ROI) models to demonstrate the business impact of improved email deliverability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Product Management to influence the product roadmap for deliverability features.
    • Partner with Marketing to develop thought leadership content.
    • Collaborate with Technical Support and Engineering to resolve complex client issues.
    • Align with Customer Success to ensure seamless client experiences and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in email deliverability consulting, with significant experience serving enterprise clients.
    • 5+ years of people management experience, preferably leading distributed teams in a services environment.
    • Proven track record of building and scaling operations teams in a high-growth environment.
    • Experience working with global ISPs and managing sender reputation across various regions.
  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Deep expertise in email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
    • Comprehensive understanding of deliverability monitoring tools and analytics platforms.
    • Proficiency in interpreting deliverability data and transforming insights into actionable strategies.
    • Knowledge of email compliance regulations across different markets (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, etc.).
  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on team development and operational excellence.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences.
    • Strong business acumen with an understanding of how deliverability impacts marketing ROI.
    • Strategic mindset coupled with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
    • Customer-centric approach with a passion for driving client success.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, email marketing certifications) are a plus.

  • Familiarity with automation tools and CRM systems that support email marketing efforts.

Experience
