Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and manage robust data pipelines and data solutions on Azure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, hands-on expertise with Azure data services, and a passion for building scalable and secure data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services.
• Develop ETL pipelines to support data warehousing and advanced analytics workloads.
• Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain data lakes and data warehouses on Azure.
• Implement data governance, data quality, and security standards across data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune data pipelines for reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in Azure data services:
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
    • Azure Databricks / Spark
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
    • Azure SQL Database / SQL Data Warehouse
  • Solid experience with SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Scala for data engineering tasks.
  • Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of data governance, data privacy, and security in cloud environments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and logging for data pipelines.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools for data visualization.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, or Service Bus.
• Exposure to ML pipelines or working with data scientists.

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
• Relevant experience of 5+ years in Azure data engineering.

Environment

• Work will be primarily remote, with the expectation of being on-site once a month.
