Cloud Migration Consultant – (AWS to Azure)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Migration Consultant with over 4 years of experience in application assessment and migration, specifically focused on migrating complex applications from AWS to Microsoft Azure. The consultant will collaborate closely with Microsoft business units, participate in intake, assessment, planning, and design phases, and lead client interactions. This role also involves supporting application modernization efforts in Azure and requires familiarity with AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess application readiness by documenting architecture, dependencies, and migration strategies.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and generate discovery insights using tools such as Azure Migrate, CloudockIt, and PowerShell.
• Create architecture diagrams, migration playbooks, and maintain Azure DevOps boards.
• Set up applications in both on-premises and cloud environments, primarily focusing on Azure.
• Support proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and provide expert advice on migration options.
• Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth handover to migration factory teams.
• Track project progress, identify blockers and risks, and report timely status updates to project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in cloud migration and application assessment.
• Strong expertise in Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) components such as Virtual Machines (VMs), App Services, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Familiarity with AWS IaaS/PaaS services including EC2, RDS, Glue, and S3.
• Proficient in programming languages and frameworks such as Java (SpringBoot), C#, .Net, Python, Angular, React.js, and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure components including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Firewalls, and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs).
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) knowledge including OAuth, SAML, Okta, and SiteMinder.
• Experience with Big Data tools such as Databricks, Hadoop, Oracle, and DocumentDB.

Preferred Skills

• Azure or AWS certifications.
• Prior experience with enterprise-scale cloud migrations, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary
