Credit Wise Capital (CWC), founded in 2019 and headquartered in Mumbai, is an RBI-registered Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) focused on technology-enabled consumer lending. The company has a strong presence in two-wheeler and electric vehicle (EV) financing, serving customers across more than 10 states through a technology-led dealer network of over 430 dealers. CWC has built a customer base of more than 200,000 borrowers and is dedicated to expanding access to credit across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, particularly focusing on new-to-credit customers. The company's assets under management (AUM) have scaled from approximately ₹489 Cr in FY24 to ₹628 Cr in FY25 and projected to reach ₹722 Cr in FY26. CWC is backed by institutional investors and has access to various sources of debt capital, including bank borrowings, Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs), and Commercial Paper.
Job Summary
The Head of Finance will be a vital member of the leadership team and play a crucial role in steering CWC's growth trajectory. This hands-on leadership role encompasses finance, treasury, capital raising, asset-liability management (ALM), taxation, regulatory governance, investor management, and financial strategy. The individual will be responsible for building the finance function for a rapidly scaling NBFC while ensuring robust financial controls, governance, and capital efficiency.
Responsibilities

Treasury, Fundraising & Asset-Liability Management:
- Own the company's treasury strategy and manage liquidity effectively.
- Lead relationships with banks, financial institutions, debt investors, and funding partners.
- Drive debt fundraising initiatives, including bank borrowings, NCDs, Commercial Paper, and other structured funding sources.
- Develop and optimize the company’s liability profile and cost of funds.
- Oversee ALM, liquidity planning, and capital allocation.
- Explore and establish opportunities in securitization, co-lending, and structured finance transactions.

Finance & Controllership:
- Direct financial reporting, accounting, management information systems (MIS), budgeting, and forecasting efforts.
- Ensure stringent financial controls, governance, and audit processes.
- Enhance finance processes and systems as the organization expands.
- Conduct profitability analysis, cost optimization, and business performance reviews.
- Implement appropriate application of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), including Ind AS 109 and expected credit loss (ECL) requirements.

Taxation:
- Oversee compliance with direct and indirect tax obligations and ensure timely filing of returns.
- Lead tax planning efforts and ensure tax-efficient structuring of business and funding transactions.
- Manage interactions with tax authorities and external advisors during audits and assessments.
- Work to identify and mitigate tax risks throughout the organization.

Regulatory & Risk Governance:
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other regulatory bodies.
- Strengthen internal governance and compliance frameworks, financial oversight, and risk management.
- Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Operations, and Business teams on financial matters.

Investor & Board Management:
- Handle financial communication and reporting with investors and lenders.
- Prepare and present financial performance updates to the Board and senior leadership.
- Support fundraising discussions, conduct due diligence, and enhance investor relations.
- Collaborate closely with the Founder and CEO on strategic financial decisions.

Leadership:
- Build and lead a robust finance organization covering controllership, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury, taxation, and regulatory finance.
- Develop a scalable finance operating model appropriate for a rapidly expanding NBFC.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the Founder and CEO.
- Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, discipline, and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant with 9-15 years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in an NBFC, consumer finance, vehicle finance, fintech lending, or related financial services.
- Extensive exposure to treasury management, ALM, debt fundraising, and management of lender relationships.
- Familiarity with bank borrowing, NCDs, Commercial Paper, securitization, and co-lending will be highly valued.
- In-depth understanding of Ind AS 109 and ECL relevant for NBFC financial reporting.
- Experience working with rating agencies, lenders, investors, and auditors.
- Strong knowledge of RBI regulatory requirements and financial governance standards.
- Proven track record in building or scaling finance teams and operational processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a strong commercial acumen linking finance to business growth and profitability.
Preferred Skills
- Additional qualifications in finance-related fields are a plus.
- Prior exposure to fintech innovations in consumer lending could be beneficial.
Experience
- A minimum of 9 to 15 years of experience in finance roles within relevant industries.
