Job Summary

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead Grow Trees in its mission and strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with our environmental goals. This role entails developing and implementing strategic plans, fostering partnerships, and engaging with stakeholders to amplify our impact in tree planting and sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall strategic plan for Grow Trees, ensuring alignment with our mission and objectives.
• Fundraising & Development: Drive fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with donors, governmental agencies, and corporate partners to secure financial resources for initiatives.
• Team Management: Oversee recruitment, development, and management of staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated workplace culture.
• Public Relations & Advocacy: Represent Grow Trees at public events and in media, advocating for environmental issues and raising awareness about tree planting initiatives.
• Program Development: Implement and evaluate community-driven programs and projects that promote tree planting and reforestation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within the nonprofit sector or environmental organizations.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide staff and volunteers.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging a diverse audience and conveying complex ideas effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with environmental policies, sustainability practices, and tree planting initiatives.
• Experience in grant writing and donor engagement strategies.
• Proficiency in project management and evaluation.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of executive-level experience in nonprofit management, environmental advocacy, or a related field is preferred.

Environment

The CEO role may involve a combination of office work and community engagement activities. Regular travel may be required to meet with partners, attend events, and oversee project sites.
