Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior VMware Engineer to lead and execute complex deployments and migrations involving VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, vSAN, and the VMware Aria Suite (formerly vRealize Suite). The role focuses on the design, implementation, and migration of enterprise virtualization platforms to modern, software-defined data centers.

Responsibilities

• Design & Deployment

  • Plan, design, and implement VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including management and workload domains.
  • Deploy and configure NSX-T/NSX-V, including logical switching, routing, firewalls, and network services.
  • Set up and manage vSAN clusters, including stretched clusters, fault domains, and storage policies.
  • Deploy and configure the VMware Aria Suite components (Aria Operations, Aria Automation, Aria Operations for Networks, and Aria Lifecycle).

• Migration Projects

  • Lead and execute workload migrations to VCF environments from legacy 3-tier infrastructure and non-VMware platforms.
  • Use tools such as VMware HCX, vMotion, cold migration, and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for seamless migrations.
  • Conduct pre-migration assessments, dependency mapping, and develop migration runbooks and rollback plans.

• Automation & Operations

  • Utilize VMware Aria Automation to automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of virtual machines and infrastructure services.
  • Integrate monitoring and alerting with Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Networks.
  • Build and maintain workflows using vRealize Orchestrator (vRO).

• Support & Optimization

  • Provide post-deployment support, performance tuning, and ongoing optimization of deployed infrastructure.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues across compute, storage, and network layers.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to governance and regulatory requirements.

• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Produce detailed design documentation (HLD/LLD), deployment guides, standard operating procedures, and migration plans.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions for internal teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years in enterprise virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) – planning, deployment, lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in NSX-T/NSX-V – design, deployment, firewall policies, micro-segmentation.
  • Experience with vSAN – implementation, storage policies, capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of VMware Aria Suite – Aria Operations, Automation, Orchestrator, and Lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding of vSphere 6.x/7.x/8.x, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware HCX, SRM, and large-scale workload migration projects.
  • Familiarity with automation/scripting tools: PowerCLI, Ansible, Python (preferred).

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge in disaster recovery planning.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for team management and engagement initiatives.

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years in relevant experience focused on virtualization and cloud infrastructure.

Environment

• Position may involve working PAN India.
• Rate: 160K/month.

Salary

• Estimated rate of 160K/month.
