Job Summary

The Category Manager will be responsible for owning the category/store P&L and driving revenue, gross margin, and inventory productivity. This role is critical in optimizing product assortment and pricing while working closely with various teams and vendors to ensure effective category strategies are executed.

Responsibilities

• Own category/store P&L and drive revenue, gross margin, and inventory productivity.
• Analyze SKU performance to determine products to scale, retain, or discontinue.
• Optimize assortment, pricing, and promotions to maximize gross margins.
• Monitor inventory health, reduce dead stock, and improve inventory turns.
• Utilize sales and financial data to identify growth and profitability opportunities.
• Collaborate with vendors on commercial terms, pricing, and margin improvement.
• Coordinate with operations, finance, and store teams to execute category strategies.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years in:
    • Category Management
    • Retail Merchandising
    • E-commerce
    • Commercial Finance / Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Business Analytics
    • FMCG / Consumer Brands
    • Consulting
• Strong understanding of P&L, margins, inventory, and business analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to make data-driven commercial decisions.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of retail industry trends and consumer behavior.
• Experience with business intelligence tools.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as category management, retail merchandising, e-commerce, or commercial finance.

Environment

The position will be based in New Delhi, specifically in the Okhla area. It may involve collaboration with teams across multiple locations, requiring effective communication and coordination.
