Manager - Design

Job Summary

The Manager - Design is responsible for overseeing the design process for redevelopment projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various teams to deliver high-quality design solutions. This role is crucial in translating design ideas into actionable briefs, managing consultant appointments, and ensuring project timelines and specifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and calculate the area identified for future projects and draft the end product design for customer presentation.
• Translate design ideas into design briefs for design consultants and architects, ensuring maximum Floor Space Index (FSI) and customer acceptability.
• Appoint consultants based on proposal analysis and brief them on project requirements, expectations, and timelines to ensure timely appointments and avoid cost overruns.
• Collaborate effectively with various teams, including liaison, projects, and sales, to maintain consistency in product specifications across all documentation.
• Acquire necessary approvals for design and resources for project construction, tracking project progress and addressing any design-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and project timelines, while identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Identify self and team development needs, pursuing training and education to acquire new skills.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Redevelopment By-laws and Development Control Regulations (DCR).
• Excellent analytical and design drafting skills.
• Proficient in project management and coordination.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Educational qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with design software and tools.
• Familiarity with construction processes and materials.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in design.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design management or a related field, with a focus on redevelopment projects.
