Job Summary

As a Team Lead in Payroll Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing a dedicated team that ensures the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities within the General Accounting team. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements to support ABB's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure timely completion of monthly payroll accounting, including payroll-related accruals, salary disbursements, and payroll clearing for responsible countries.
  • Perform general accounting activities and record financial transactions related to payroll processing.
  • Conduct regular investigations and reconciliations of payroll-related accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate accounting analyses and reports to aid finance and business leaders in decision-making processes.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and collaboration effectively.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on various accounting issues and inquiries.
  • Initiate quality improvement initiatives within the Record to Report (R2R) payroll area.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in MS Office with SAP knowledge being a must.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years in general accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and processing of journal entries, with at least 3-5 years in payroll-related accounting activities.
  • Must have experience in Record to Report (R2R) processes.
  • Good command of communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Flexibility to work in varying shift timings.

Experience

  • At least 10-15 years of relevant experience with a strong focus on payroll accounting activities.

Environment

  • The position is located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India and may follow an on-site or hybrid work model.
