Job Summary
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the FP&A function at Turtlemint, a rapidly growing insurtech company operating at a scale of over US$ 250 million in premium generation annually. This role is critical in building Annual Operating Plans, supporting investor reporting, and overseeing revenue and profitability management. The position will involve leading a capable team and potentially expanding to include data science talent as the business grows, supporting the company’s ambition to go public in the coming years.
Responsibilities
- Lead the FP&A function and manage a small, highly capable team.
- Develop and track the Annual Operating Plan, utilizing analytics dashboards for effective tracking of monthly performance.
- Establish monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports for investors and ensure timely submissions and query resolutions.
- Create a robust Business Performance Management framework with clear dashboards for ongoing business tracking and new initiatives.
- Oversee revenue and Gross Margin management, ensuring performance aligns with plans related to net margins, contribution margins, and EBITDA.
- Evaluate new business proposals and investments, collaborating with project sponsors and relevant CXOs.
- Conduct systematic and adhoc investor reporting, including necessary uploads to reporting portals.
- Implement proactive cost management processes and commercial management for key contracts to minimize recurring costs.
- Support audit and due diligence processes and help lead fundraising efforts, including setting up data rooms and building financial models.
- Assist the CEO and COO in investor outreach and presentations.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant with at least 10 years of experience in FP&A or finance functions, preferably in a medium-sized company.
- Strong financial modeling skills and experience leading a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in procurement and vendor selection with a focus on commercial negotiations.
- Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
- Self-starter attitude with a proactive approach to tasks.
Preferred Skills
- MBA is not mandatory but will be advantageous.
- Exposure to analytics packages such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
