Job Summary

The Startup Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating early-stage startups applying for PedalStart’s acceleration program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business fundamentals, market analysis, and the startup ecosystem. This role involves conducting detailed assessments of startup business models, financial projections, and market opportunities to inform investment and acceleration decisions. The analyst will engage directly with startup founders, analyze data, and generate insights to support PedalStart’s mission of fostering innovative startups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of early-stage startups across diverse sectors.
• Evaluate startup business plans, financial forecasts, and market potential to determine viability and scalability.
• Engage in initial and follow-up discussions with startup founders to understand their business models, challenges, and future vision.
• Gather detailed information through effective questioning, active listening, and data collection.
• Perform in-depth market research, including competitive analysis, industry trends, and risk assessment.
• Analyze market size, growth potential, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats.
• Compile, interpret, and present data-driven reports and insights to the PedalStart team.
• Collaborate with team members to assess startup suitability for acceleration programs and investment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years of professional experience, preferably within a startup environment.
• Strong understanding of business models, financial analysis, and market research methodologies.
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with startup founders.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurial innovation.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with startup valuation and investment analysis.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of various industry sectors and emerging market trends.
• Prior experience in venture capital, startup mentoring, or business consulting.

Experience

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in startup analysis, investment evaluation, or related roles.
• Experience working within a startup environment is a significant plus.

Environment

This role is based at PedalStart’s office located at Springhouse Coworking, Grand Mall, DLF Phase 1, Gurugram, Haryana. The position requires a hybrid work approach with 6 days of work per week, primarily in-office. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and proactive engagement with startup founders and team members.

Salary

The offered salary package is 12 LPA (Lakh Per Annum).
