Oracle HCM Data Migration – Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer to support our Oracle HCM Cloud implementation projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes and will be responsible for end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to Oracle HCM Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand data migration requirements across Oracle HCM modules (Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, etc.).
• Perform data extraction from legacy systems and third-party applications.
• Clean, transform, and map source data to Oracle HCM Cloud templates.
• Develop and execute data load programs using HCM Data Loader (HDL), HSDL, or Web Services.
• Conduct data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support multiple testing cycles – System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Go-Live – including defect resolution and reloading activities.
• Document data migration processes, mappings, and validations.
• Work closely with Oracle Support to resolve data-related issues, errors, or load failures.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–6 years in data engineering or data migration roles with a focus on Oracle HCM.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with HCM Data Loader (HDL), HSDL, and other Oracle HCM Cloud data tools.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud data model and business processes.
  • Experience with legacy system data structures and third-party integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel-based transformation and working with data templates.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Talend, or Informatica (optional).
  • Experience working in Agile environments.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle HCM Cloud Certification (Core HR or related modules).
• Experience in at least one full-cycle Oracle HCM Cloud implementation.
• Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or Oracle BI Publisher is a plus.

Experience

3 to 6 years of relevant experience in data engineering or data migration roles.
