Role Overview We are looking for a Business Development Lead – Private Label & Contract Manufacturing to drive new client acquisition . This role will focus on identifying potential clients, initiating conversations, understanding requirements, pitching Capabilities, and converting qualified leads into active business opportunities. The person will own the journey from lead generation to commercial conversion, after which the execution and account coordination will be handed over to the Key Account Manager. This is a mid-level role suited for someone who is commercially sharp, proactive, strong with outreach and follow-ups, and comfortable speaking to founders, business owners, procurement teams, and brand teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead Generation & Prospecting Identify and build a strong pipeline of potential clients across: ● Skincare, hair care, body care, baby care, hygiene, and personal care brands ● Emerging D2C and consumer brands ● Salons, spas, hotels, wellness brands, and hospitality groups ● Retailers, distributors, and institutional buyers ● Corporate gifting and bulk order clients ● Export and international private-label opportunities Use platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry databases, exhibitions, referrals, online research, and industry networks to find relevant leads. 2. Outreach & Client Acquisition Conduct outbound outreach through LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp, calls, and other relevant channels. Introduce Clean Beauty’s private-label and contract manufacturing capabilities to potential clients. Set up introductory calls, meetings, and factory visits with qualified prospects. Follow up consistently and move leads through the sales funnel. 3. Requirement Understanding & Lead Qualification Understand client requirements across: ● Product category ● Formulation requirements ● Target pricing ● Packaging expectations ● MOQ expectations ● Launch timelines ● Business potential ● Regulatory or compliance needs Qualify leads based on fit, seriousness, order potential, timelines, commercial viability, and alignment with Clean Beauty’s capabilities. 4. Pitching & Commercial Discussions Present Clean Beauty’s capabilities, manufacturing strengths, product categories, existing experience, and process to potential clients. Share relevant company decks, product capability lists, catalogs, and samples where required. Work with internal teams to provide indicative commercial direction, feasibility, MOQs, and next steps. Support early-stage commercial conversations before handing over the client for execution. 5. Sales Pipeline Management Maintain a structured CRM or Excel tracker for all leads, including: ● Lead source ● Company name ● Contact person ● Requirement summary ● Stage of discussion ● Follow-up dates ● Expected order value ● Conversion probability ● Next steps Prepare weekly reports on outreach activity, qualified leads, meetings scheduled, active discussions, and conversions. 6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Handover Coordinate internally with management, R&D, packaging, costing, and operations teams to assess client feasibility and next steps. Once a client is commercially aligned and ready to move forward, ensure a smooth handover to the Key Account Manager. Share clear details on the client’s requirements, expectations, target pricing, packaging needs, timelines, and discussion history. Continue supporting the relationship where required for repeat orders, upselling, or new product opportunities. 7. Market Research & Opportunity Mapping Track new brands, product trends, competitor manufacturers, export opportunities, and category demand in beauty and personal care. Identify high-potential categories, brands, geographies, and channels to target. Attend relevant trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events when required. Requirements ● 3–6 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, client acquisition, institutional sales, or manufacturing-related sales ● Prior experience in beauty, personal care, FMCG, packaging, ingredients, contract manufacturing, hospitality, or B2B services is preferred ● Strong communication and follow-up skills ● Comfortable with outbound sales, cold outreach, and relationship building ● Ability to speak confidently with founders, brand owners, procurement teams, and business heads ● Strong commercial understanding and ability to qualify leads properly ● Good working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, CRM tools, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator ● Ability to manage multiple leads, conversations, and follow-ups in a structured manner ● Interest in skincare, personal care, clean beauty, manufacturing, or consumer brands ● Based in or willing to work from Bangalore Preferred Background Candidates from the following industries would be preferred: ● Personal care or cosmetics contract manufacturing ● FMCG or beauty sales ● Packaging sales ● Ingredient or raw material sales ● B2B corporate sales ● Hospitality or institutional sales ● D2C brand partnerships ● Export or private-label business development
