Mainframe Developer - JCL, CICS, VSAM, COBOL, DB2

Job Summary

The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining mainframe applications using technologies such as JCL (Job Control Language), CICS (Customer Information Control System), VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method), COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language), and DB2 (Database 2). The role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of mainframe systems that support critical business operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement mainframe applications utilizing JCL, CICS, VSAM, COBOL, and DB2.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe application performance and functionality.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Maintain existing code and documentation for all mainframe applications.
• Perform testing and debugging of applications to ensure they meet specifications.
• Continuously optimize and enhance the mainframe systems for improved performance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in JCL, CICS, VSAM, COBOL, and DB2.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with mainframe development tools and environments.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mainframe development.
