Role Purpose: Managing Regulatory and Servicing related System / Process  enhancements

1. Ensure on-time development of all projects pertaining to Core and non-core applications
2. Identifying opportunities in these systems and ensure smooth functioning.
3. Automation of activities which are regular in nature

Key Accountability

Process Design and System automation

• Oversee documentation and validation of functional specifications defined on the basis of business needs
• Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure generation of testing scenarios
• Enablement of new product – understanding requirements, generate test case scenarios, UAT execution, co-ordination with different business teams and IT for enablement
• Day 2 Features – maintenance of day 2 feature tracker and feature enablement before committed timeline, ensuring no new day 2 for new product launch
• Day 2 – Feature listing of old products and ensuring implementation of features in Life Asia
• Production data verification basis sampling and full checking as detective controls
• Design and implement exception reports and defect reports
• Governance framework and SDLC process expertise

Project Management

• Participate in discussions, functional owners to understand project requirements/mandates across non-core IT applications
• Create project plans in consultation with reporting manager, establish objectives and outcomes, and seek requisite approvals for driving them from relevant stakeholders
• Conduct discussions with all the identified stakeholders to map the responsibilities of various team members and timelines of delivery
• Identify tools, data sources, and liaison with all concerned internal and external stakeholders to obtain data required and enable realistic project planning and execution
• Anticipate business requirements of stakeholders to ensure efficiency and scalability of the fast-growing business
• Conduct periodic discussions with identified stakeholders in the project team to monitor progress against timelines and evaluate challenges/ issues faced if any
• Present project status to all concerned stakeholders and others in the functional teams, on a periodic basis, along with vendors if any, and incorporate feedback received

Operational reviews 

• Define timelines, measures for completion of projects undertaken, track the progress and status against timelines and develop action plans in case of deviations
• Maintain a risk and issue register and highlight issues/ risks/ deviations to reporting manager or functional owners, for corrective actions and manage project delivery efficiently to ensure timely delivery of projects

Testing and User Adoption

• Oversee the creation of relevant use cases that test the functionality of IT solutions from an end user and business perspective
• Oversee roll-out of regular UATs (User Acceptance Tests) to check functionality and resolution of bugs identified
• Review the new solution and give final sign off to the project team, vendor and application management team
• Ensure trainings and hand-holding of system users in the operations environment to develop ease of using the new system

Educational Qualification:

Graduate or above

Competencies (Knowledge & Skills) :

1. Demonstrate deep knowledge and experience around the Insurance Domain
2. Project management / Good Knowledge of SDLC cycle
3. Working System knowledge Life asia etc
4. Analytical Problem-Solving capabilities.
5. Scenario generation
6. Six sigma preferable

Work Experience

• Overall 10-12 years of experience
• In-depth experience in IT transformation and project management
• Experience in system integration
• Preferable experience in Insurance
• Experience in team management
