Job Summary

The SQL Developer will play a critical role in migrating code from Sybase to SQL Server T-SQL ANSI standard syntax. This position focuses on refactoring existing code to enhance compatibility and efficiency, while utilizing tools that facilitate the migration process.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing Sybase syntax code to SQL Server T-SQL ANSI standard syntax.
• Write and refine code, ensuring that it adheres to best practices and standards.
• Utilize online tools such as SQL LINES for assisted code conversion and perform necessary adjustments to improve accuracy.
• Refactor in-line alias usage from Sybase and convert internal functions into SQL Server functionalities or custom-built functions.
• Work within the Appeon Infomaker UI console and SQL Server Management Studio for code editing and compilation.
• Manage and oversee the migration of 87 forms/code libraries of varying sizes (from 500 to 5000 lines of code).

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in writing SQL code in a professional setting.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SQL Server T-SQL ANSI standard syntax.
  • Familiarity with Sybase syntax and the ability to convert it to SQL Server standards.
  • Experience with SQL LINES or similar migration tools.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server Management Studio and query analyzer tools.
• Soft Skills:
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance in code.
  • Problem-solving abilities for addressing complex conversion issues.
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of additional migration tools and methodologies that improve code conversion efficiency.
• Experience with other database systems and programming languages.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of full-time coding experience in SQL, with demonstrated expertise in database migration projects.

Environment

• Remote work setting, allowing for flexibility in work-life balance. The role requires self-motivation and discipline to meet project deadlines while working independently.

Salary

• Budget set at 1 Lakh Per Month plus GST.
