Plant Manager
Job Summary
The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of facade engineering production and manufacturing operations, ensuring high-quality output, efficient workflow, and team development. This role demands a results-oriented leader with strong people management skills, a deep understanding of facade systems and industry regulations, and the ability to drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and quality control. The Plant Manager will interface effectively with design, procurement, logistics, and project management teams to meet organizational goals and uphold ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the facade engineering plant operations, including capacity planning, scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
- Set targets, monitor team performance, conduct reviews, and foster workforce development through training and culture creation.
- Ensure compliance with facade industry regulations such as ASTM, AAMA, EN, and others, and maintain quality control systems.
- Oversee fabrication processes including CNC programming, aluminum and steel fabrication, welding, and related manufacturing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, logistics, and project management to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting, inventory management, and reporting to support business strategy and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of trust, ethical behavior, and ownership mindset while resolving conflicts and making informed decisions under pressure.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in facade engineering, with the first 3 years possibly in any engineering field.
- Strong knowledge of facade systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with facade industry regulations such as ASTM, AAMA, EN, and LEED standards.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, quality control systems, health and safety protocols, and process-driven operations.
- Proficient in digital tools including AutoCAD (ACAD), ERP systems, and CNC programming oversight.
- Excellent people management skills including target setting, performance monitoring, conflict resolution, and workforce development.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.
- Educational qualifications typically include a degree in engineering or a related field.
