Job Summary
The Senior Manager / AVP in the Retail Advisory Services (RAS) team is responsible for formulating and driving strategy and managing key relationships across a selected set of distribution relationships, including National Distributors, Fintech, or Independent Financial Advisors. This role is pivotal in achieving and exceeding sales targets within the retail distribution framework.
Responsibilities
- Manage key distributor relationships—including research, product, and sales strategy teams centrally for all national distributors.
- Drive projects and initiatives to manage and develop central gatekeeper relationships across National Distributors (NDs).
- Achieve and exceed sales targets for retail distribution across assigned relationships, collaborating with regional sales teams.
- Work with the senior sales leadership team to enhance sales delivery across NDs, securing approval and recommendations for funds on various ND platforms.
- Strategize business plans with distributors covering products, pricing, sales across locations, and events.
- Suggest pricing changes and conduct impact analyses of pricing models to meet the firm’s objectives.
- Coordinate the execution of sales strategy with regional teams.
- Independently plan and advocate for strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, such as portfolio management and operations, for the smooth implementation of distribution strategies.
- Monitor sales metrics including MIS, Mathematics of Retail, Talisma, Budgets, Activities, Call Reports, and weekly management reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory authority requirements and mitigate risks, escalating issues to senior management when necessary.
- Represent the Franklin Templeton brand and culture through day-to-day activities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Financial advisory linked qualifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) are preferred.
- AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India) / NISM (National Institute of Securities Markets) certification (Advisors’ Module) is mandatory.
- 15-18 years of experience in the mutual fund/wealth management industry.
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of the local market.
- Excellent relationship management and key account management skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills.

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing strategic sales initiatives.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance.
Experience
15-18 years of experience in the mutual fund or wealth management industry is required.
