Cross-border B2B payments Role : Tax & Compliance Manager Location: Bangalore (In-office, Mon–Fri) Experience: 4–6 years (flexible for the right candidate) Roles and Responsibilities : 1. Compliance Execution & Calendar Ownership ● Own and maintain the centralized compliance calendar across entities (India PA-CB and new geographies as they come online). ● Track statutory, regulatory, tax, and entity-level compliances with strict adherence to timelines. ● Maintain a compliance risk and exceptions tracker, monitoring aging, root cause, and closure actions. ● Ensure all compliance deliverables are completed, reviewed, and closed on time. 2. Taxation (Local & Global) ● Own end-to-end direct and indirect tax compliances across India and global entities (GST, TDS, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Transfer Pricing, etc.). ● Ensure timely and accurate filing of all local and global tax returns in coordination with external advisors. ● Assess tax implications of new products and cross-border structures; recommend tax-efficient and compliant structuring. 3. Transfer Pricing Governance ● Own transfer pricing compliance and documentation (Local File, Master File, intercompany agreements). ● Ensure arm’s length pricing for cross-border transactions including cost allocations and service fees. ● Coordinate with advisors to manage TP audits and mitigate cross-border tax risks. 4. Regulatory Reporting & Licensing Support ● Execute regulatory reporting and submissions: compile inputs, prepare documentation packs, track deadlines, and maintain proof-of-filing. ● Support licensing and market-entry readiness for new geographies by managing checklists, data room documents, and regulator / consultant queries. ● Coordinate closely with multiple external vendors and advisors to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings. 5. Inspection Readiness & Documentation Control ● Maintain continuous inspection and audit readiness, including SOPs, evidence logs, reconciliation proof, and approval trails. ● Own documentation governance for compliance-critical artifacts (policies, forms, registers, approvals) with proper version control. ● Coordinate with the data room owner to ensure compliance and finance artifacts are current, consistent, and easily retrievable. 6. Governance, Secretarial & Finance Support ● Build and periodically update a robust multi-entity compliance calendar covering tax, regulatory, and secretarial requirements. ● Ensure alignment between financial records and compliance filings. ● Manage Companies Act compliances including ROC filings, board documentation, statutory registers, and governance records. 7. Cross-functional Coordination & Risk Escalation ● Work closely with Head of Finance, Legal, Ops, and external advisors to execute compliance deliverables. ● Proactively follow up with internal teams for inputs and close gaps without last-minute escalations. ● Flag potential compliance risks early with clear context and recommended next steps. Academic Qualifications & Experience ● Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Law, or Business (B.Com / BBM / LLB or equivalent). ● 4–6 years of experience in compliance operations, regulatory reporting, or execution-heavy documentation roles. ● Prior exposure to RBI / financial services compliance, payments, NBFC, or regulated environments is a strong plus. ● Working knowledge of local and global tax compliances and Companies Act requirements preferred. ● Comfortable managing compliance trackers, spreadsheets, evidence packs, and data rooms.
