Job Summary
The Manager Legal (Litigation) will support the organization in handling various legal activities and assignments efficiently and in a timely manner, adopting a pragmatic and holistic approach. The role involves collaboration with the Godrej Legal team and various stakeholders to manage legal matters effectively.
Responsibilities
- Handle and follow up on court cases as required and coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary information/documents for court proceedings.
- Collaborate with senior counsels and external advocates to manage litigation matters pending before various courts, including RERA, Consumer Forums, Civil Court, High Court, and Supreme Court.
- Prepare appropriate notes, briefs, and necessary applications/statements/arguments for legal proceedings.
- Regularly update internal and head office stakeholders about the facts and merits of cases, providing timely reports and updates.
- Track and monitor all litigations, ensuring timely updates on day-to-day court proceedings.
- Draft legal notices, responses to legal notices, and review and vet various drafts shared by external advocates, filing required documents before the relevant courts.
- Conduct title due diligence, prepare preliminary title reports, and evaluate land records while identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated with existing laws and changes affecting real estate development, capitalizing on emerging opportunities for organizational benefit.
- Ensure effective management of legal documents.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor of Law (LLB).
- Experience: Minimum of 15-22 years in court practice and the real estate sector.
- Proficiency in legal practice before various courts in Bengaluru.
- Excellent proficiency in the Telugu language.
- Willingness to travel across the South region, including Chennai and Hyderabad.

- Proficiency in dealing with regulatory authorities.
- Effective verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in people management.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
- Awareness and understanding of legal and regulatory aspects in real estate/development.
- Knowledge of property, contract, and commercial law.
- Exposure to working with RERA.
Experience
Minimum of 15-22 years in the legal profession, particularly in court practice and real estate law.
