Job Title: Head – Financial Accounting Department: Finance Reports To: Senior Vice President Finance & Accounts Location: Whitefield Bangalore Position Summary: The Head – Financial Accounting will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company’s financial statements. This role will lead the financial accounting, taxation, and audit functions, while driving process excellence, system adoption (SAP), and building a strong finance team. The incumbent will act as the custodian of financial governance, statutory compliance, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting • Lead and manage all aspects of financial accounting and general ledger (GL) functions. • Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts. • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards • Ensure proper documentation and reconciliations for all balance sheet items. Compliance & Audit • Oversee tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings and audits. • Manage customs and import compliance requirements. • Coordinate and complete statutory and tax audits within stipulated timelines. • Maintain robust internal financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. Fixed Assets & Inventory • Oversee the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), ensuring accurate capitalization, tagging, and depreciation. • Drive periodic physical verification of assets and reconciliation. • Manage inventory accounting and ensure proper valuation, control, and reporting. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management • Monitor cash flow planning, ensuring effective utilization of funds. • Drive receivable and payable management to optimize working capital. • Ensure banking compliance and treasury coordination for payments and collections. Process Excellence & System Implementation • Build and strengthen financial processes and controls across the organization. • Drive SAP adoption and automation of accounting and reporting processes. • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiency. Leadership & Team Development • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team. • Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning. • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and procurement. Qualifications & Experience: • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA). • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Financial Controller or Accounting Leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing or process-driven organization. • Strong knowledge of Ind AS, GST, Direct Tax, and Customs/Import compliances. • Proficient in SAP • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Timely and accurate financial closure each month and year-end. • Statutory and tax compliance with zero non-conformities. • Successful completion of audits within defined timelines. • Reduction in accounting errors and reconciliation gaps. • Implementation and stabilization of SAP for all financial modules. • Improvement in working capital metrics
